ETUDE ELECTROMAGNETIQUE DES PARTIES FRONTALES DES ALTERNATEURS EN REGIMES PERMANENTS ET TRANSITOIRES

Abstract : The aim of this work is the experimental validation of turbogenerators 2D and 3D finite elements models. This validation deals with steady-state and transient conditions, such as no-Ioad three-phase short-circuit and out-ofphase synchonization (180° and 120°). A synchronous generator and its testing bed have been constructed. 2D and 3D numerical models of the magnetic circuit and of the end parts of the test generator have been achieved. The comparison between the results from the 2D numerical computation and the analytical one, with the tests results for short-circuits and out-of-phase synchronizations has confirmed the validity of the 2D finite element modelling for the generators transient conditions studies. The magnetic field measurements in the end parts of the test generator have been analysed and compared to the 3D finite elements computations. The numerical model is satisfactory for the no-load tests. Besides, the current limitations of the 3D computations were brought out with the transient conditions computations. Finally, the results of the out-of-phase synchronization tests on the test generator are presented and analysed.
