Résumé

In this thesis, we study using Statistical Mechanics methods the thermal properties of the unbinding transition between pairs of strings or biomembranes (manifolds). The main quantities to consider contact probability, the mean-separation and the free energy density of a pair of manifolds. We first use the Transfer Matrix Method, with a standard Morse potential. Also we demonstrate, for any interaction potential, provided that it is sufficiently deep and of very short-range, the universality of critical exponents associated with the unbinding transition. This proof is tested on the standard and generalized Morse potentials. Secondly, we extend the study to the most general Morse potential, we introduce, for the first time, which depends on a real parameter q. For q = 0 and q = -1, we recover the previous potentials Finally, we propose a double Morse potential for the study of Statistical Mechanics of manifolds confined between two interacting plane walls.
