Conception, optimisation et réalisation de sous-ensembles RF à base de technologie additive métal

Abstract : Microwave components, especially those made of metal alloys, are omnipresent in various fields such as telecommunications, defense, and space because of their low loss advantages and their high-power handling capacity. However, with the huge competition in the microwave component market, customers are increasingly demanding equipment with higher performance. In recent years, additive manufacturing provides an alternative to conventional subtractive manufacturing processes. its promising technologies go beyond conventional machining to produce complex and monolithic parts. The Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) manufacturing process seems to be the most suitable to produce industrial components of complex metal structures. However, like any manufacturing process, DMLS has its own specificities and constraints that need to be considered during the design stage to take full advantage of the benefits it offers. Therefore, this thesis project focuses on the metal additive technology applied to the realization of microwave sub-assemblies along two axes. The first one consists in studying the feasibility of traditional sub-assemblies with the DMLS manufacturing process by identifying the performance gaps between simulation and measurement results. The second is the design of an innovative antenna system with a structure that is complex, monolithic, and adapted to the DMLS manufacturing process while still complying with the microwave specifications.
