Semantic Analysis of Imitative Prosody proceeds to the description of isotopic relations between the verbal chain and the prosodic chain. This notion of structural origin, developed by Rastier's interpretative semantics, accounts for the partial identities of signs in the textual chain, in order to form the cohesion of the latter. It uses the notion of semantic feature, which is also employed for the constitution of paradigms. The imitative function, marginal compared to the grammatical or affective prosodic functions, is nevertheless of heuristic interest, insofar as it reinvests the latter functions in the context of its isotopic relationship with the imitated verbal content. This particular framework allows us to problematize in the prosodic field classical notions of general linguistics, such as polysemy, amalgams, connotation, variants, and more generally syntagmatic and paradigmatic differentiation (with extension in the field of semiotics). Within this framework of iconicity (and indexicality), we also address the diachronic and synchronic motivation of prosodic signs. For the less theoretical aspect of this thesis, but based on our formalizations, we analyze about 200 examples of prosodic imitation of poetic texts by professional actors. We have classified them into 30 specific imitative values, themselves classified into 10 domains of sound symbolism: movement, force, quantity, size, sonority, presence, resistance, spatial position, temporality and valence. We then proceed to some stylistic descriptions.
