Résumé

The focus of palaeoenvironmental sciences on past human activities and their impact on the environment necessitates a precise understanding of modern ecosystems. By studying the relationships between the present vegetation cover and the resulting pollen rain, palynology aims at establishing a referential for the interpretation of fossil pollen spectra.
In order to create such referential for the Franche-Comté, a region rich in palaeoenvironmental data, we have studied the current pollen signal from two different plant communities characterised by a very specific anthropogenic flora: arable weeds and ruderals.
First, the phytogeographical analysis of the evolution of these plant communities since the Neolithic allows us to validate the comparison. Then, by distinguishing between native and alien species (archaeophytes and neophytes) and by refining their ecological characteristics, the method also allows the discrimination of species that are strong indicators of human activities.
The carrying out of field work (vegetation surveys, pollen collection and identification) allows us to analyse and confirm, through a number of statistical analyses (PCIA, Davis indices), the relationships between a given vegetation community (vegetation data expressed on a species taxonomic level), its theoretical pollen rain (vegetation data expressed as pollen types) and its actual pollen rain (pollen data expressed as pollen types).
Finally, the comparison of the results obtained by these two approaches leads to a critical synthesis of the traditional anthropogenic pollen indicators (“indicators species”, Behre) in the study area and to the establishment of new and more specific local indicators.
