SPIRou: synthèse de paysages en infrarouge basé sur la modélisation physique des échanges à la surface

Abstract : Signal coming from the ground and gathered by a sensor, undergoes lot of perturbations and processes to be transformed in an image. All those processes can be modeled by a simulator of an earth observation system which is composed of four main parts: lands cape, atmosphere, on board and ground segments. This thesis consists in synthesizing the landscape part of the observation system in the infrared spectral band with variable meteorological and acquisition conditions. Synthesis needs several models to compute fluxes, temperature and radiance at ground level. It concerns, for instance, the solar and atmospheric fluxes, the in-depth heat conduction, the water evaporation heat flux, etc. As we find in literature a multiplicity of models, we have to select one of them. Mode! selection bas been guided by the concern to keep as low as possible the number of parameters describing the physic, to preserve the main mechanisms that constraint the energy balance at the surface. All models have been implemented and validated by comparison between measurement and estimation. SPIRou, software resulting to models implementation, enables us to generate realistic images in infrared spectral band at ground level. Those images could be used to define a mission choice to observe a particular phenomenon (wavelength observation time, best spatial and time resolution...), in order to train end-users to infrared remote sensing and in research and development to validate exploitation algorithms.
