Synthesis and control of the architecture of new luminescent alkaline earth metallophosphonate
This thesis concerns the synthesis and characterisation of new luminescent rare-earth-free metallophosphonates obtained by hydrothermal route. This work aims to control the structure of the hybrid material by playing on the size and environment of the divalent cation (Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+ and Zn2+) and on a selection of luminescent rigid phosphonic acids. The ligands are fluorene and dibenzothiophene derivatives consisting of an aromatic platform on which phosphonic acids differing in number and position can be grafted. Depending on the nature of the cation, the geometry of the aromatic platform and the position and number of reactive functions, lamellar or channel architectures have been obtained. The crystal structure, thermal stability and preliminary luminescence studies are proposed for all the materials synthesised.
